I produce 10 different instructional videos which I duplicate with a robotic type duplicator. This works fine for all my domestic sales in the USA. However,. I have a distributor in th UK that would like to have all my titles pressed locally. I will get a good royalty per disc sold. That will eliminate my having to do the work duplicating, packing and shipping to England. Very costly when you also consider the duty fees involved. They will be able to pass on the savings to customers by lowering the net selling price due to the lower total production costs if pressed locally.

My question of course is, what should I provide to them as masters. I do not have a way to print to DLT so I can only think of burning to disc from my original ISO images loaded on my duplicator's hard drive.

Any suggestion as to what discs to use for that? I normally use TYs for my individual discs that I sell privately of through my USA distributor. I fully understand that ANY error will be perpetually etched to the glass masters so I want to make sure that I minimize that as much as possible.

    Thanks in advance

Make an ISO, compress it with RAR.
    Click the "Put recovery record".
    Burn the RAR.
When extracted it will create your ISO and give a warning of any corruption.
If the distributor doesn't know what RAR is, choose the self-extracting option to make an EXE.
You could also make an MD5 for the ISO to confirm integrity.

My "Disc Images" are in the internal drive of my duplicator so I cannot make any convertions to anything. Just burn them. Since they would rather have 10 discs from which to create the glass masters, I simply want to know if there is a "standard" brand or type of media people tend to use in the industry to burn a master. Like I say, Digital Linear Tape is the usual standard, specially if Macrovision is to be added but I do not have access to that. All I can provide is one disc per each title.

jtoolman2000, I have no more information than you do about this but I just though to ask if you have contacted the duplication/mastering factory themselves? Find out exactly what company and shoot them an email or something, find their site. They should be eager to get this going smoothly and provide you with the information you seek.
