Cyberhome DVR1600MU firmware needed (version 5.40 or 6.10)

Hello,

Due to Cyberhome going out of business in the US, I am unable to download the firmware I need from their old website. So, can anyone email the firmware to me or post it online somewhere.

My DVR1600 was manufactured in May 2005, and is the MU version (not ZU or MU1).

I am looking for either (or both preferably) version 5.40 (540) or 6.10 (610).

Can anyone help? I need it to help solve a problem my DVR1600 has reading disks. It will not recognize some store bought DVDs (for playback), and will not record on some types of DVD+R media.

I have version 6.10, both the front and rear versions. However, it did not help my situation.

Original problem was failure to close and sometimes failure to format RW Disks.

After installing Ver 6.10, it will SOMETIMES format and close RW Disk, but usually doesn't even recognize the +R disk.

When the recorder was new, it would accept both + and - Disks. It will now format a -R disk but will not record. the +R Disks (if you can format and record, usually do not close.

I am willing to share the upgrade with you, but advise against it, based on my personal experience.

Can you send me the firmware 6.10 for DVR1600 MU (Front and back end)? I search for it, but the CyberHome has left the business in US and her wbe site has been closed.

Did you ever get a copy of the firmware? I'm looking for the firmware code to upgrade my DVR 1600. Any help is appreciated.

I also need a firmware update as I am making coasters everytime I insert a DVD. No matter what media I use. I currently have version 5.40. Anything would help.
