I'm converting about 100 vhsc tapes with an advc110 to vegas movie studio, first captured to dv-avi. They are mostly 30 min tapes.
I was doing some basic editing first (cutting out things like: camera running with lens cap on, taping the tv playing etc) and then rendering to Main Concept mpeg 2/ dvd-ntsc.
I'm going to store the mpeg 2 data files on dvd, and also burn about 4 tapes to dvd with a menu for each.
The dv avi files are way too big to archive, so I'm starting to archive in the above mentioned mpeg 2.
I would just want some thoughts on editing the videos later in the mpeg 2 format.

No problem provided you have the tools. MPEG Video Wizard would be my no.1 choice.
