Anyone try this free open source OS. It looks like a blend a NT4.0 and Linux. The install process and desktop sure look like windows, but when you open it's "File Manager" your in Linux.
Seems buggy,it's install of .exe files seems iffy. I was able to install DVD Decrypter. Attempts to install the motherboard drivers failed,I'm guessing that's it's NT4.0 code.

That's a bit picky ... and to me it was absolute s****

I use puppy , a live distro , about 80mb's ... only problem is I have to update the current kernel to a later version and add the package for sata , and the newer intel chipset which it dosent support at the moment ... but it work's if you use a 265mb usb storage device .

I used to like mandrake ... good , but then I got into sarge ... missing feature's .

Good old redhat ... I like old version 5.2 ... none of the look like windows , and 200 path's to the same tool ... funny stuff .

It's what's putting me off ... the "I wanna be a window clone feel" or is that clown ... sure , for newbies ok ... but to me it's crap .

It's a very clever idea. I am interested in how the audit goes personally. Keep in mind, they have a long ways to go, so yes, the experience would probably be crap at this point in time. I personally am amazed that it is actually working.

Just to clarify, there is no linux code in this. It is a completely different kernel than linux. The project does borrow from many opensource projects though, such as wine.

ReactOS and SkyOS are crap. I tried my hand at alternate OS this past summer, and it was just a waste of time.

Use Windows XP, use Mac OS X, or use Linux with a GUI (KDE, Gnome). Those others just work in theory, for the most part.
