I follow the steps from " HOW TO MAKE A DVD WITH SELECTABLE SUBTITLES ON MAC OSX WITH FFMPEGX" to burn all my download movies to DVD, but after I burn them to DVD, I couldn't watch them on my commercial DVD player. Does anyone know why ? I use disk ultility to burn those movies to DVD.

You did this step too then?
    • "If you burn with Disk Utility, use first ffmpegX "DVDImg" tool to convert the MOVIE.DVD folder into a disk image file. To do that, select the "Tools" tab, locate the MOVIE.DVD folder in the first "Browse.." field of the "Video tools" area, then click the "DVDImg" button. You will obtain an .img file that you can burn with Disk Utility "Burn" button."
'Cause you'll need to burn DVDs in UDF file structure, which Disk Utility can't do by itself; you'll need a disk imaging tool that supports UDF first.
Maybe simplify the MOVIE.DVD folder name to something short, all CAPS, no spaces, e.g. 'CHRISSY_DVD21', before imaging, in case your player is picky about that.

Another thing to check is whether your standalone player is compatible with the type of media you're burning. Some players are fussy about DVD-R vs. DVD+R, and even about particular brands within those broad categories. There's a compatibility database on this website -- you might want to take a quick look at it to see if your player has any known preferences.

Hi. thanks so much for your help. I rename the folder as you said and I use Image burner to burn my movie. It works very well on my commercial DVD player. This software Image burner is a free software and it allow you to burn disk image into DVD without using expensive software like Toast. However, I got a small problem because ffmpegX only convert one movie espidose at a time into VIDEO-TS. I wonder if there is anyway I can combine three or four espidoses into one file by using ffmpegX and then convert that file into VIDEO-TS ?
