My original Quicktime movie is 1024 x 576, when I use the default NTSC settings in Nero, is it reducing the resolution to 720 x 486? This is to be played back on a PC, so I want it to stay at 1024 x 576. Is this possible?

    Thanks,

Don't convert it to dvd then. What format would you like? mpeg, avi divx xvid? Why not keep it in quicktime if you are just going to play it on the computer?

For SD DVD, the highest resolution would be 720x480/576 (NTSC/PAL). To get higher resolution, you would have to create some sort of HD-DVD (and also have HD-DVD Software player).

Of course, you can always make a regular HD file (like a WMV-HD), and just play it back with a number of software players (depending on your bitrate and resolution, your equipment will need to be powerful enough for smooth playback).

    Regards,

I'm sending the DVD to a client who just wants to pop it in, and have it start playing full screen. The QT file is 1.3 Gb, so I don't know if their computer is capable of playing a file that size smoothly. I also don't know how computer savvy they are. They're going to be showing this at a trade show on a continuous loop.

If you want a VideoDVD, there are specifications for that format that you must stick to. 720 max width is one of those. But then, even if you go for a Video DVD, you can't be sure their computer will play it.
If you know they have Autorun enabled on the DVD drive, maybe include VLC (does it play QT?) and have it autostart with your qt video?
