    Hi,

I recently bought a Sony DVD recorder (RDR-HX525) with hard drive. I have followed the instructions for easy set up. The process scans and finds 21 programs. The easy set up process completes. When I check the TV Guide the following day only 5 TV channels are listed.

Could some one help me to get the remaining 16 channels to appear.

If I select, say, channel 13 it will be one of the cable channels but not in the correct position, so it appears to be there but its not listed when I press the TV Guide button on the remote.

I look forward to hearing from you

    Regards
    Martin Greshoff

    greshoff,

It took a few days for my Sony RDR-HX715 to fully retrieve the guide.

Yes, all 27 or so of my basic cable channels loaded in a few days. I've read that it can take upwards of a week depending on the cable provider.

Do you have it hooked up directly to cable or to a cable box or satellite?

Refer to your manual for the correct hookup. You can download the manual here.
