In the past I have used Nero 6.6 and now Nero 7 to copy to temporary folder then burn to blank DVD in the same DVD burner.

Is there any safe way to copy unprotected DVD from one DVD burner and burn on the fly to another DVD burner with low risk of burn failures.

If so what software is safest to use to avoid errors.

I have never thought of doing this before but would like to try it if the right software and the burner buffer under run protection will prevent errors.

    Hi Firewire60,

I have Nero 6.6 and (you'll see from my "Computer Details") a DVD Rom and a DVD burner.

I've copied unprotected DVD's from the ROM to the burner with no issues. I don't know Nero 7, but would hope it would do the same for you.

Use a DVD re-writeable to burn to and all you lose is a little time trying...

You can try it, but there's always a risk of data corruption when backing up on the fly. I would spend the extra few minutes and transfer it to the hard drive, then burn from that.

Nero has a copy 'on the fly' option, but even it says 'Copying on the fly is risky. Please make sure that the source disc is clean and the reading speed is at least double the writing speed'. Nero is probably as good as any other software if you want to try it.

Since you have Nero, why not just use the 'Copy Disk' from the 'Recorder' menu? It will automatically copy to the hard drive, then delete the folder it made after burning. Then you won't have to mess with making a folder and deleting it manually, if that is what you are presently doing.
