Hi All,
I have a really dump question. Is it possible to capture a higher resolution than 720X480 from a DV source? If so, which software will do this?
Also how is HD video captured from Camcorders, and what software/resolution is used for it?
Thanks.

Standard DV is fixed resolution - 720 x 480 (NTSC) and 720 x 576 (PAL)
Higher-definition versions of DV exist (DVCProHD, for example) - but the equipment is expensive.
HDV camcorders (not HD) record using an MPEG2 format, like DVD.John Miller -

That will depend on the HDV device - whether or not those modes are supported.
