  1. I wanted to know from anyone who has tried to compare but walmart has a hdmi cord for $35 compared to monsters $120 one..... will there be a big difference in picture quality?????

    No, the signal is all digital. Either the tv gets the signal or it doesn't. There's no in between.

    That's not what you asked.

    The difference in price is just greed. People that don't know any better will think the $100 ones are the best and get those not knowing that it makes no difference.

    well actually there is an "in-between" - specially on longer cables ... not ALL the bits have to get to the end point in order to get a picture .... the common "sparkle" issue is a case in point of a not as good cable vs. a better one ..

    BUT price is not the deciding factor as you mentioned ....

    monoprice.com 6ft 28gauge hdmi cable - roughly 6 bucks
    acoustic research 6ft 28gauge hdmi cable at best buy - roughtly 70 bucks

    Um... I'll take the cheap ones please!

    I have a Cyberhome upconverter dvd player that came with the HDMI cable which cost me $82.00. I only bought the unit since it came with the HDMI cable. Then 2 weeks later my friend went to buy one at wally world and it was marked clearance price $49.99!!!!

    I use to be a Monster Cable fanboy when I was into Audio/Video stuff when Betamax and LaserDisc was popular. Only to learn later that Monster Cable is so overpriced and overrated.
