hi everyone, I am a total virgin to the whole dvd burning/movie downloading thing.
please tell me if i am in a dream world or if what i want to do is realistic.
could i signup with a place like m-download, then download movies, then put on a dvd to watch on my home system? is this possible ? if so what would be the simplist way to accomplish this?

I would not mind having to buy software, but I do not want to have to keep buying more and more because one will not do certain things.
I hope I am not sounding like a complete dumba**.Just looking thru these post I see there is a ton of different things going on.
maybe i am being lazy , but i do not want to get way involved, or spend tons of time doing this.
Thanks in advance for any info.

As far as downloading videos, that's up to you. If you want a simple program that will handle most common formats and output a DVD, look into ConvertXToDVD. You also want to get a copy of Gspot 2.60 as it will identify what formats you have and tell you other information, including the codecs they use. You could also get VLC Media Player as it will play most any video without having to install codecs. And for burning DVD, ImgBurn is one of the better programs for that purpose.

Of those programs mentioned, only ConvertXToDVD is not freeware and the cost is reasonable. For the rest of the information you need, we have a FAQ: https://www.videohelp.com/faq and lots of guides for particulars.

    And welcome to our forums.
