Hi
This subject may be quite way off this forum but still here it is. Any help is highly appreciated.
I am currently implementing a VoIP network completely based on Cisco's solution. As part of the solution we have installed Cisco's Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) 4255.
What I am looking for is a way to test whether the IPS is configured or functioning properly or not by simulating some sort of attacks like DoS, ICMP floods etc. Is there a software available to simulate such attacks and send the packets to the IPS which in turn will detect it as an intrusion and prevent it. I have asked Cisco and they say they don't have any test plan or procedure for IPS ! Surprising ! I know their testing is done by other third party agencies.
Any ideas ??
