So what driver do you need? It's a DV camcorder so no driver will be required to transfer over Firewire. It might need a driver to use the USB to transfer still images although the JVC website does not offer one so I assume one isn't needed.

It won't pick it up as a video camera because that is what the Firewire connection is for. It may pick it up as a digital still camera as that is what the USB is intended for. As a USB device it may need a driver but as one isn't available from the JVC website I assume it should just appear as a standard mass storage device. It's a new , or at least current, model camcorder so if a driver was required I would have thought you should have got one with it. However, you are not alone http://www.camcorderinfo.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=130645

All is not lost though, it appears that your camcorder uses an SD card for storing the still images, just take it out the camcorder and use a card reader.

Or, as the camcorder is a UK model, I assume you are in the UK (and walmart doesn't exist), get one of these http://svp.co.uk/products-solo.php?pid=407

Oh, so sadly, Walmart DOES exist in the UK - they bought out Asda which promptly went down the toilet. A Walmart opened in Bristol a few years ago and it was a big event....

The card from SVP includes a 6 to 4 pin cable.

I thought when I wrote it that somebody would point out that ASDA was bought by Walmart. I'm not sure if there are any Walmart branded stores in the UK, but I know ASDA doesn't stock the same sort of things as Walmart does in the States.
