I tried to play a dvd on my computer and it told me i needed a dvd decorded.What does that mean? Could anyone help

Sure. Windows doesn't come with a MPEG-2 codec, which is needed to play DVDs and other MPEG-2s. You can install a software player like Power DVD or just install Stinkys MPEG2 Codec and you should be good to go.
