    Hi,
I am sure this is a common question, but i could not find a previous post on this subject. I sucessfully burnt a movie to a Memorex DVD-R media with a my Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-103 1.80 burner. The movie plays fine my PC, but in my Samsung DVD-V6500 it skips forward through the movie constantly. My player is suppose to play DVD-R, but I am not sure if it's a burning issue with my software(I used CovertXtoDVD) or Media/Player issue.
Any suggestions on how to identify the problem is much appreciated for a newbie!
    Thanks
    Gil

Typical media issue. Try a different type/brand of media.

You can also look up your standalone in the DVD Players section and see what brand/type of media others have had success using.

  3. What media? What write speed? What firmware? Might be old firmware. Hope you aren't using cheapo media. Get some verbatim at buy.com they are around $12 per 100 after rebate & GCO.

Your Pioneer DVDwriter probably doesn't like Memorex media (made by CMC). You will likely have to replace your media with another brand or replace your writer.

Since your writer is only 2x I'd consider replacing it. Increasingly new media will show greater failures when burned that slowly.

There are many DVDwriters available for $30 or less and rather than pay a premium for media that your drive works with, taking the extra time to burn and risking failures at any time, the purchase of a newer media tolerant drive might be in order.

Thank everyone for your replies. I am taking into consideration of all the advice.
I did find out this info, that the same movie burnt on the memorex media, played well on a little cheapo dvd player were I work at..go figure.

    Thanks again
