I have built my menu is Photoshop and there is a star that follows the user selection next to the item as well as turning the text from white to blue. How do I set this up in DVD Lab Pro? I will want to add glow effect to the text afterward but for now...baby steps!
Thanks

Setup the star as "Invisible Normal"
Also use the Group-Hotspot tool to group the star with the text.

Thanks George...now this being my first project in DLP... do I need to give specific names to my layers in Photoshop? (ie. background, button-01, etc.)?
You say group the star with the text...so I would bring in the text, the bullet, and the background separately from Photoshop??? -
So basically, if I create a menu in Photoshop that contains layer comps for every possible state of user selection (ie. snapshot of what it looks like when user has item 1 selected, another for when item 2 is selected, etc), its of no value except to give me a visual idea of what I want the end product to LOOK like?
And if I understand correctly, I need to save all the pieces that make up my mockup individually, bring them in separately and REPOSITION everything in DLP??? ....boy, sure hope Im wrong about this! -
I don't understand why this is so hard, as DLP's use of psd files is far simpler than any other authoring program.
Create your menu as you want it to look. Put every menu item in it's place, including any separate graphic elements. Anything that wont be highlighted can be flattened to the background. Put each menu item and each bullet on their own layer, in the correct position. Save as a .psd file, and import it into DLP. Now link your buttons to your movies, set your button states, and you are done. No need to move anything around at all.Read my blog here.

OK, i think i have my first menu going now....i was wondering about the AutoAction button...when does one know when to turn it on? If i understand correctly, this button causes an action as soon as it becomes selected, and therefore does not require the user to press Enter. That makes it ideal for switched menus. Any other times you would think of needing to turn it on?
