I noticed that some of the commercial VCD's that I bought (from the Phillipines) have a Sony software player, with an autorun.inf file in the root directory, on them so that the disks can be played on a standard PC - ie, one without a DVD drive, or software player.
Does anyone know if this can be done on home produced VCDs? I guess the Sony software is copyrighted, but is there an alternative and can anyone offer guidance on its use?
Incidentally, I notice that the video quality on these disks is absolute crap - I can produce much better on my PC - I guess they go straight from film/DVD to VCD standard without any type of twin pass with VBR etc - anyone know?
