Im stumped on how to convert/encode my movies to xvid.

I have the xvid codec and have options to configure encode and decode options but i dont know how to actually encode to xvid.

I have read that vlc supports this but when i choose wizard/transcode i dont get the option to use the xvid codec. Maybe vlc need to know where to fing the codec ?

I have winavi converter, total video converter, and yasa video converter but again none of them have the option to encode to xvid. What is the best way to do this ?

Is there some specific software *just* to encode to xvid ? or can i some how add the codec to vlc player or the other converters ?

    If so how ?

    Many thanks.

Super is the tool to start off with .

Gspot for checking avi ... tells you if you have the correct decoders installed for playback .

Virtualdub / virtualmod to convert avi / mpeg / vob to avi .

Then it's head into the guides section , as "convert to xvid" would be "convert "x" to avi" ... the "x" refers to all video formats , you just supply the search term used ...

https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?guideid=91#91 ... as an example , mpeg to divx with vdub .

  3. Hello and welcome to the forum-

What is the best way to do this ?

Virtual Dub Mod. Open your AviSynth script file in VDubMod, go Video->Compression->XviD MPEG-4 Codec->Configure, set it up and encode. There are guides around. Or, to save yourself some trouble until you get the hang of it, try AutoGK as a front end for the whole thing.
