Hi there,
I've been searching in vain for a (standalone desktop) DVD recorder that can be modified so that the infamous "prohibited user operations" on the remote are no longer prohibited.
Modifications like this used to be available for a wide range of Sony DVD PLAYERS, and there is still a working firmware hack around for the Panasonic S42/S49/S52/S295 series.
But none of the "usual suspects" seems to know about any RECORDERS that can be modified this way, quoting too little demand. At least as far as "brand" products go; there have been more or less oblique insinuations at NoName Chinese stuff...
Any hints?
A DVD player with built-in hard drive would also be ok.
