Hey everyone,
What freeware (if any) would you recommend for ripping segments (not chapters) from a DVD to a video file that would work in PowerPoint? If there are any one-stop solutions that would be ideal. I've worked with MPEG1 in PowerPoint before and been pretty pleased - small file, compatible, looks decent, etc. but am open to suggestions. This will be on a PC.
Thanks!

I would use dvd shrink to rip out the clip I want using the reauthoring mode. Then convert the vob to mpeg1,avi with some other tool like tmpgenc, virtualdubmpeg2.
