    I've been using Winavi and Dvd Santa recently to convert my moives, they seem to give me ok results.But what i want to know is Which program should i use to get the best Quatily??? btw, i need one which converts to vob, so i can make an iso than burn to dvd. Thanks for you time

    You don't want one that converts to VOB, you want one that creates a correct DVD structure.

    If you want a one click solution, ConvertXtoDVD is about the only one I would trust. If you source is torrents and other downloads, then there is little value in using anything better.

    If you have good quality source (and a 700 MB avi file is not good quality source material) then you need to learn how to use all the different tools required to produce a quality outcome.

    You're asking for the impossible. You want the best quality, yet at the same time you want something that will do the whole job for you. The best quality isn't found in an all-in-one app. To do it right you first use a dedicated encoder to convert the video to DVD compliant MPEG-2. Then you use a dedicated authoring program to put the pieces together. You can't have it both ways.

    Yep what he said. A very good free video encoder is HC. Audio encoder is Aften with it's Gui. Gfd or dvdauthorgui are both good authoring programs. All listed are free and will give you much better quality and control than any all-in-one app.
