    Hi, my video is a messed up.... its very low brightness and contrast... i ran codec sniper and that showed some broken codecs that i deleted. i installed the klite codec pack and rebooted, but video is till the same.... Can anyone help me out? I'm desperate! thanks in advance!

    Avoid codec packs, use instead ffddshow. If you play with VLC Media Player does it look okey then? it has builtin codecs.

    It could also be graphic card overlay settings. Check under your Control Panel -> Display -> Advanced.

    Hey thanks a lot for writing back. I tried VLC... it's the same... but when i took a snapshot, that pic was nice and clear. and what should i do the graphics card settings? and oh how do i install ffdshow seperately without installing codecs? thanks in advance! really appreciate ur help!

    The overlay settings are under the advanced tab of the display properties as stated above.

    Right click on your desktop, choose properties, settings tab, advanced button, "video card name" tab (for nvidia cards), video overlay settings

    Hey thanks for replying... but I'm not sure as to what settings i have to have for normal video... i didn't change any settings. the video became like that all of a sudden... sorry i'm being such a pain! but i'd really appreciate ur help... hols just started. it's kinda hard when i can't play any movies!!!

    the funny thing is, when i'm running some video edit/encoding program, then the video is clear. and the podcasts are clear too... but any other video or even dvds are extrememly pale and horrible!
