    Hi there, I got this problem with my dvdrw from SAMSUNG . It used to be wrking fine but currently it can only read CD and DVD but could not write any DVD. I try using alot of bruning software and diffrend brand DVD but everything i put in a blank DVD, it kept identifying it as CDR. Finaly tried DVDInfo, and it state that the DVDW not supporting DVD writing. Attach is the info i got from DVDinfo...Can anyone pls help me with this.... Ur help is greatly appreciated. thnks.

    Sounds like the drive has failed. There isn't anything you can do to correct. Time to get a new drive.

    I hate to say it my friend, but I would have to agree with Krispy Kritter because I went through your pain as well.

    I say this from experience. I've had an OEM drive on my PC when I bought it. I struggled, struggled, struggled and nothing worked. Finally, I asked a friend to borrow his unit to try it on mine to see.

    Lo and behold, my yearn to burn was finally satisfied! I ran out and got one that worked. (But not before a nice fulfilling and therapeutic bitch session with the sellers of my PC.)

    I still say, ditch that chart stuff and get a new burner. They have never been so cheap as now, with tons of features, compatibity and reliablity. The prices will drop even further after the holiday season coming up if you want to wait.

    Do you have someone who can lend you their burner first? Try it.
    I hate VHS. I always did.
