Hi
I'm trying to convert some videos in AVI format (I'm not sure of the exact source of the videos but there must be some way of finding out) and whenever I convert them the framerate drops to around 3-5fps, whereas the source framerate is pretty standard. Any advice on what I can do to stop this from happening? This same problem has happened when I convert it to PSP format on ffmpegx and iPod format on iSquint, both to mp4 formats
Thanks
Ben

Is the output file's framerate truly reduced, or is it that it's being played back at a reduced framerate? There's a difference. For example, if the bitrate is too high for real-time decode on the playback device, frames might be dropped as a coping mechanism. The same can happen if there are errors in the file.
How are you determining that the frame rate is wrong?
