well you could pm ps2daddy. He is definetely the most knowledgeable user I know of for modded game consoles.

Or you could do a net search for ps2 mod chips and find all you need to know.

Forget Modchips. The BEST non-mod solution is by putting a hard drive into your PS2 w/ the HDAdvance discs. Most computer hard drive brands will work with it, except for western digital.

This method plays EVERYTHING, easy to do, and zero physical modifications like soldering are required.

Also works on the Slim model PSTwo system:

    As far as the ps2

I think the hard drive advanced is great the usb extreme on the slim ps2 is very slow since its uses usb 1.0.
For the slim ps2 you need an external usb drive to do this
(IF you have an older ps2 and you are not for sure about the laser never chip always use the hd advance)

I am a modchip man but its a personal prefernece issue
I actually run hdadvanced with my modchip

If you cant solder and you want to do it yourself then the hdadvanced is the best easiest and quickest way

If you actually like soldering like myself and if you are pretty handy at it then a chip might be for you

Just remember there is always more than one way to skin a cat

Just note that you have to burn your games to a dvd-r and your laser is being used with a chip its a hd drive wear issue with the hd advanced my last ps2 is 3.5 years old and still going strong

    Either choice is great

With the xbox I always perfer the software mods I usually only use the modchips to fix dead harddrive, take the chip out, and then perform software mods

Matrix infinity is a great chip you can find one at www.foundmy.com

I want to buy a brand new xbox 360 and put a modchip chip inside since it is only active when you stick in a backup
(it will probably be a lot of people that would perfer a firmware flash but I like soldering and with the newer drives you have to pyhsically remove the firmware chip to flash with a programmer so a chip is a lot easier for me)
