I want to backup some original movies to dvd-r.
My shrink doesn't want to do it any more so what can I do?
I have fab dvd decryptor but that burns the movie to the hard drive and then I cant find it again to burn off with nero. Can someone please explain a basic step by step way to make copies - i do not need to reauthor or anything - just straight out copy. I have tried the methods shown in some of the guides but I am new at this and just cant follow some of the technical terms.
When I try to burn it to a blank using nero express it says that the compliance test has failed and the disc may be unusable.
    Thanks in advance

Yes I tried that but I still don't understand. I have been sitting here for hours reading through guides and posts and trying to go step by step and then something always buggers up at the last minute.
I AM SO BLONDE!!!!!! What is going on - I have done this so many times before!!!!

when I burn a movie on with shrink once it gets to 100% instead of asking me to insert a blank it is starting all over again at 1 % and burning it on again

That's quite normal, it sounds like DVD Shrink is using it's deep analysis mode.

    I HAD SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!
I was using drag and drop in nero burning rom instaed of "copy to compilation". Disnt think it would make any difference but it did!!

    NEW PROBLEM THOUGH..........
now when i try to burn on with shrink it is telling me that i am low on memory, that the paging file is too small for the operation to complete. what does this mean and how can i fix it

You may find it better to take Nero out of the loop. There is a version of Shrink that automatically uses ImgBurn to burn a DVD. ImgBurn seems to make more compatible burns than Nero. Both programs are freeware. You can get them here: http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=63869

For backup of newer DVDs, RipIt4Me>DVD Shrink>ImgBurn is a good combination that works on about any DVD.

EDIT: Paging file. Mostly a temp file in your case. That sounds like you are running low on available memory/RAM. Windows generally uses hard drive space in that case in a paging file. Are you low on hard drive space also? You can set the size of your paging file, but Windows does a decent job of managing it's size on it's own. You might want to check your hard drive for space, maybe get rid of some unneeded files, then defrag it.
