    I want to buy a DVD player for a friend of mine in Germany.
    I am in the United States. Is there a different video format in Europe?
    Does anyone know of a website where I can buy online and have it drop shipped?

    Do yourself and him a favour and don't....Unless it's region free, and multi format (NTSC/PAL) switchable..

    In fact, i created a DVD in NTSC land, and had it shipped to Europe. Played fine on their system....
    There's no way that it could have worked the other way around..
