I've had one of these for a while and did the macro free, region free firmware reburn on it.
It's the player with an IDE drive that is pretty problematic so I thought I'd put in a new DVD drive.
I know there is a site describing this procedure (although easy as pie really), but it's pretty dated information, along with the drives they suggest.
Would anyone know what readily available drive I can simply plug in this thing?
I know it has to be region free so maybe a link as well to the firmware...etc.?
I'm just going to take an old computer case, put the Sampo inside with the cover off, make a hole for the remote control and plug in the new DVD drive.
THANKS. Maybe there is someone out there who has done it and can save me alot of time.
