    I have some vob files off my DVD camera and I want capture a particular part and save it as an mpeg or avi, is this possible? The whole vob fil is 20 mins, but I need to some how just grab a couple of minutes in this?

    Plus can I reduce the size of the avi or mpeg after so I can email it.

    Videoredo, open vob, edit, save as mpg. You can then convert the mpg to avi divx with autogk if you like.

    Or virtualdubmpeg2, open vob, edit, video->compression and choose for example divx, save as avi.

    What kind of camera? If it's a Sony you might be able to just use the software that comes with the camera to pull the mpegs and not the VOB structure. That's what I do with my DVD405.

    ...you can also try vob2mpeg; i was using it last night and it worked great.
