Hello all,
I've been using my Canopus ADVC-100 along with Scenalyzer Live to convert 16:9 camcorder video and 16:9 TiVo movies to DVD.
Discovered something odd with Scenalyzer Live (great proggy by the way!):
- When I "capture" the analog source to "Type 2" DV file I always get a 720x480 DV AVI file.
- When I "capture" the analog source to a "Canopus-compatible DV file" I always get a 856x480 DV AVI file.
It's my understanding that the ADVC-100 produces 720x480 DV AVI output, so why would the "Canopus-compatible DV file" report the frame size as 856x480?
I use both Canopus Procoder Express (PCE) and CCE 2.70 Basic. PCE will happily accept the so-called 856x480 file, but CCE will not accept it (it reports it as an unsupported frame size).
Does anyone have any idea why I see 2 different frame sizes here? and is there any benefit to using Canopus compatible DV files given the final conversion to DVD is 720x480?
Thanks,
Kevin

whoops! I should have mentioned that I see this behavior when I set the 16:9 flag in Scenalyzer...
