Pioneer DV440 Freezes with dvd disc

Just rented Jeepers Creepers and placed into the player..The player reads the menus but when I go to actually play the movie it freezes and will not go any further....I placed in other dvd discs and work perfectly...I also tried the Jeepers Creepers rented disc on my other players and it works fine....What could the problem be? Open to any suggestions or solutions..Thanks in advance...

This is really a good question. I had exactly the same problem with the same movie. Only movie that froze on me so far on the 440.
