I picked up an SA 8300 HD-DVR from TWC today, to go with my Samsung LNS3241D and the HDMI output on the box looks really blocky with a ton of artifacts that you can see from quite a distance, regardless of the settings on the box. Overall, the picture looks quite harsh when it's tuned to an HD channel or upscaling an SDTV channel. I'm using a 6 foot long HDMI to HDMI cable with gold plated connectors.
This is my first flat panel, I had a tube-based HDTV for a few years before this.
If I switch the connections up and use component, the picture looks fine.
What do you think is going on with my setup?

do the hidden setup on the box first while it is off ... hold info and menu button until setup pops up ...
