when i convert a avi with it, it will have a purple hue around the images. Why dose it do that? I had no problem with this converter 4 like 2 months. But then it started to convert my movies into blocky images when i would view them. Why dose it do this? I found that if i set the frams down, it stoped the blockyness. Stoped it when i would play it on the window's player. But when i played it in my dvd player, thier they were again. HMMMMMMMM. Why? So i downloaded the newest version of tmpgenc, and now i have a purple shadow like hue. It comes in and out. The avi file's that i convert are perfect, and with out the purple " Banrey " thing going on. Please help......

Posted my problem a few weeks ago (purple and green alternately taking over the colour spectrum when avi movies were converted with TMPGEnc) and received several very helpful replies.

I did two of the things suggested so don't know which solved the problem.
One member told me to uninstall Divx 4.12, then install Divx 3.11 and after that reinstall Divx 4.12 but not to allow it to be the code for ALL Divx files when asked at the prompt.

Another member told me to go in to the Options/Environmental settings/Vfapi in TMPGEnc and change the priority of the Direct show multimedia file reader to 2 instead of the default.

I did this and now get ordinary colours again.

Thanks to all who replied to me and I hope this also helps with the present members problem!
