I can encode avi video that was exported from premiere pro, but when I ripped avi video from DVD, then flash 8 encoder can't encode. WHY??

I tried many ways, I ripped from DVD as MPEG2, then encoder can recognize, but when I edit and save in virtualDubMod as avi(fast recompress), then again there is the same problem. I need to cut out unwanted scene in VirtualDubMod.......

    Please HELP!!

I tried to save with Xvid MPEG4 codec, then It successfully can encode!!
I found out that Dixv codec is not compatiable with flash 8 video encoder.

What is encoding type in Xvid. Signle pass, TWOpass-1stpass, TWOpass-2nd pass,

Only Twopass-1stpass doesn't let encoder recognize( error appear)

But single pass and TWOpass-2nd pass can encode. Which is best quality??

With single pass by default it outputs no video. The avi is just empty. For best quality a single pass with a low quant will give you the best quality. Flash also accepts AVISynth scripts as input though so you can just frameserve the DVD instead of re-encoding to an intermediate avi.
