i have an issue with my display on my laptop. its the toshiba satellite 1135-s1553 and the backlight for the display turns off at random.. there is still a display but i cant hardly see it. if i close the lid and re open it after returning from hibernation it will sometimes return.. or if i plug in a crt monitor it will make the backlight return.. anyone have any idea whats causing that.. i tried all sorts of fixes.. like drivers batterys ac power etc. none have any affect.

    any help would be great.
    thanks

Could be a loose connection or a failing DC to AC hardware inverter which drives the backlight. Both are service center issues.

Thanks for the input. after reading your post i did more googleing and found lots of great info. i thought it might be something like that but having little dealings with laptops i wanted to be sure. i found an oem inverter for 45 bux and a how to on installing so worse case im only out a few bux if its a loose connection then im golden.

its funny about how it works.. its almost always fine when the laptop is warm when its cold its a bitch.

    thanks again
