Sure are a lot of people that are dropping frames during capture. You have one of the fasted systems around yet you still get dropped frames. I understand that 24 bitRGP is really the max data, and that would really put a load on you system,...but I wouldn't expect it to get above 10%.

This is what makes me curious about what other things are going on that can cause dropped frames. In Vdub help they talk about all kinds of things that will it,.. and each and every person that has posted dropped frame notes on this forum probably have some "N" differences on there system.

Of course,... out there somewhere is a really smart guy that has already figured this out for his system, and it wasn't something real difficult,.. but he fixed it. Now he has good video capture,... so he doesn't spend much time reading this forum anymore,... else he would be happy to post the answer(s) to these dropped frame issues. I used to think it was only the lack of a very fast system,... but your post has wiped out that answer. I did post a note the other day showing how sensitive my system was,.. I could vary the dropped frame rate from 8-10% by just changing the Front Buss clock rate from 117MHZ to 100MHZ.

I now have the dropped frame rate on AVI (350x240)down to about 24 frames out of 6100,...which is .004%. Still I see stops and jumps in the captured output,.. like blocks of data are lost. That is the answer, since this very small dropped frame rate would never be visible to anyone. So what is happening is some kind of buffer or buss collision that causes blocks of data not to be stored.

If any "Smart guys" are listening,.. us dummies would like some suggestions and help. Thanks
"Technology",...It's what keeps us all moving forward.
