  2. Hi-

Did you use DVD Decrypter in IFO Mode (up at the top, Mode->IFO), as you should have? Or did you use the default File Mode? If you decrypted the entire DVD in File Mode, go back and do it again using IFO Mode.

And is this a reasonably new film/DVD that might have additional copy protection? Maybe give us the name and region. But if so, maybe you should try and decrypt using RipIt4Me using Movie Mode.

Is your AutoGK up to date? The latest version is 2.37.

And lastly, is this the first time you've ever used AutoGK, or just the first time you've had this particular problem?

As mentioned use Ripit4me which also uses automatically Dvd Decrypter, Fixvts & Dvd Shrink.
I just got a new philips portable dvd player and I've been converting dvd movies to divx by using AutoGk.

I am trying to shrink bourne identity region 2 into a xvid/divx file. I am a first time user and im not sure what could be the fault.

  5. Hi-

Well, in short, I don't know what could be the problem.

If your computer is very old, that can account for it, as AutoGK needs MMX to work.

Bourne Identity is a Universal picture (I think), so I don't think it uses Arccoss or Ripguard copy protections. It can't hurt to try out RipIt4Me to make sure that it's not the DVD structure itself that's keeping AutoGK from doing it's job. A bad decrypt for one reason or another can be causing the problem.

I've been researching this, but there is no standard solution, and sometimes it's completely unexplained. One proposed solution is the deletion of AutoGK (through Add/Remove Programs) followed by a complete reinstall.

And one solution that's pretty sure to work is to not load the IFO at all, but load the first Vob, and the rest of them should get loaded automatically. One possible drawback to doing that is that you lose the possibility of getting subtitles. You can always extract them yourself using VobSub Configure, if you need them, and if external subs are OK.

    Sorry, not much help.

Are you loading the VIDEO_TS.IFO file or a VTS_xx_0.IFO file ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

You need to load the VTS_xx_0.IFO file (normally VTS_01_0.IFO).

    Here's a guide:

    If in doubt, Google it.

Which is why the suggestion was made to use Ripit4me. Here's a simple guide on how to use it.

    http://www.ripit4me.org/guide.html

By using Ripit4me it will automatically open up FixVTS & Dvd Decrypter to rip the files. The dvd movie you're trying to rip obviously has some sort of copy protection. By using the latest Ripit4me & FixVTS it will enable you to rip the files to your hard drive without the copy protection. Then you'll be able to use AutoGK.

I think the problem is that the "Copy IFO file" setting is not ticked in DVDDecrypter. Therefore the OP is not getting the titleset IFO file. AutoGK won't work on the VIDEO_TS.IFO file AFAIK.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Did you take a look at the guide I linked to above ? It tells you everything you need to know - what software to use, where to click, etc etc ...
    If in doubt, Google it.
