    Hi there,
I have a couple of small items I want to sell on Ebay and they would be best suited to a small video clip showing the item in roatation. I've noticed that a few jewellers use the technique to sell their items on Ebay, and I wondered if anyone could tell me how they reduce the digital footage in such a way that they can link to it easily enough from their Ebay ad. How do the people who use them on Ebay get them hosted?

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? It would certainly be much appreciated if someone could enlighten me.

    Thanks in advance

    PS - here's an example

  2. You would probably want to use a format such as .WMV so that the file size wont be huge and just about everyone can view it. Next step would be to find somewhere to host the video, free web space provided by your ISP for example. As for embedding movies into web pages, im sure someone can take over here.

Alternativley there are free hosting sites you could use...

wmv format (windows XP movie maker) export it for playback at 512Mbps and shove it at youtube. then u can link to it or embed it in your ebay page.
it must be under 100Mbs file size, (I think, for youtuibe) which is big enough for a preview clip

    Hi again,
does that mean that every time someone wants to look at the video file, they'll have to download the full 100 meg. in order for it to play?

By the way, thanks to all for the advice to date. Very useful stuff.

No, it will play just like any other streaming video you find on the internet.

no it doesnt mean people will have to download a 100Mb file, it means the maximum file size you can upload to youtube is 100Mb.
That could be up to ten minutes, so for a short clip like you want, youtube would be fine cos you dont need a file that big!
people dont have to download the video, they click the link that youtube will give you after u upload the video, (you paste that in to your ebay page) and when people click that link they will be taken to the page where they can watch as little or as much of your video as they want to
