I lost. I have been using Shrink to reauthor main titles and putting them on my C drive. Burning them with nero 6. Ripped 2 movies today one with shrink one with magic ripper. Both rips went fine till I burned to disk, both played perfect on my box but my table top would not play one and the other skipped badly. Checked another site and read that the empty audio file had to be included in the burn. Try as I might I can not get nero to accept the audio file. Any help for a DA out there. Thx Skooch

    The audio file isn't necessary.

The disc not playing and/or skipping sounds like bad/incompatible media. Have you used those brand/type of discs before?

My media is 4x generic don't know the brand but I have been useing it for a while now and it has worked well no problems. I not sure what the problem is hoping to get some ideas in here. As I said it plays fine on my computer but but the table top skips or just won't read. Truthfully I do remember nero loading both the video and audio files in the past and at the end of the rip shrink would open nero rom and burn the rip now it just closes and doesn't find nero.

    thx skooch

You may just need to remove and reinstall both of the apps.

However, the playing issues still sound like a media issue. Try a different brand/type of media, preferably a name brand such as Verbatim or TY.

Try Sony made in Japan DVDrs. I have had good luck with them.

I don't think is the problem, but you may try it. I use RipIt4Me (and sometimes DVDFab Decrypter) to rip the DVD first, which uses DVDdecrypter and FixVTS. I then use VOBblanker to eliminate as much video as possible, so when I use DVDShrink, it is able to keep as much quality as possible by shrinking as little as possible. Possibly this may help.

Also ensure that your writer is bitset if possible when burning +Rs. This ensures greater compitability with DVD players.
Some days it seems as if all I'm doing is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic
