Well I'm not a huge baseball fan but this is hard to ignore

    GO TIGERS!

Who can believe they were the worst team in baseball three years ago??

    Ah well.

I'm not a Tigers fan, but I'm pulling for them. I always root for those downtrodden franchises. I hate to see those teams (and every sport has them) that just reek of failure for years or even decades.

It's nice to see one bounce back every now and then. The hardcore Tigers fans that have been with this team through all the hard times deserve to enjoy this World Series.

But as an AL guy, Game 7 of the NLCS was proof that the NL is baseball's version of the CFL. Any league that uses Jeff Suppan and Game 7 in the same sentence is a joke. And he shut the Mets down. In Game 7! Jeff Suppan!

Here's my plan: I'm going to pitch for The Cubs next year. My ERA will be about 1.50 because it's the National Leauge. Until July. At that point, I will go on the DL with some ambiguous injury and collect millions for riding the pine the rest of the year along with my new best friends Kerry Wood and Mark Prior. I will pitch the following year and have an ERA of 1.25 beacause it's the NL. I will then be eligible for free agency and sign a 350 million 10 year contract with the Boston Red Sox but claim it's not about the money. I will then post an ERA of 7.47. I will pitch even more poorly when facing the Yankees or playing in any significant games. That's it. That's my 3 year plan

Let me just be the first to throw this out there. Either the National Leauge is really that bad. Or Jeff Suppan is on the juice. Now I'm not making an accusation. But I've got to assign some sort of logic to this Jeff Suppan thing or my head is going to explode. I can't eat, I can't sleep. I'm a mess. All I can think about is Jeff Suppan. Jeff Suppan pitched and gave up less than 6 runs. It never occured to me that that was possible. I feel like everything I know about reality has been shattered. I just want things to go back to normal. If Detroit doesn't score at least 5 on this guy, I don't know what I'm gonna do. I feel like I just watched Payton Manning win the Superbowl. This just isn't right.

I was rooting for the Cards because I hate the Mets. When Carlos Beltran went down looking with the bases loaded to end the game and the Mets season, I laughed so hard juice shot out my nose. Even with the 0-2 count, that was the last possible outcome I would have predicted. At least foul the ball off. It's not not like it was a foot off the plate. I guess there's a reason he's a .260 hitter. But hey, at least they are only paying him around 17 million. If it weren't for Isiah Thomas and Bill Polian, Omar Minaya would be my favorite insane GM

I rarely watch the National League. I don't know what kind of weird Twilight Zone deal they've got going on over there. But any league in which Jeff Suppan qualifies as an ace has no chance of producing a team capable of beating the Tigers in a best of seven.

Then again, the Royals swept Detroit not that long ago. So anything could happen. I guess.
