avi to dvd prob

I have a .avi movie . I wanted to convert it to DVD format. So i downloaded the free version of win avi. It was converted properly . but there was this big message in the middle of the picture which was quite a nag. cud u plZ tell me how to remove this or a free software which converts avi to dvd quickly and in good quality.. without the naggin message in the middle.
