Wow - they didn't even "reference" the site - they just "stole" the source code and stuck it on their website.....
-
They did made some changes though....
they made the word "PowerVCRII Deluxe" and "WinVCR 2.0" bigger than the rest.....LOL
-
Blatant plagiarism.
This guy deserves to be thrown to the lions... -

-

I just emailed this site and told them they were shameless and should contact Baldrick. I also included his email. They do reference VCDHelp.com on this page
http://www.toplinenorthwest.com/digital_help.htm
but say nothing about the other section that they have stolen! -
You know...I just got to looking at the site more and they have even linked to the DVD players list and the update list not to mention the DVD demystified FAQs!
-
ya know ..if this was my site...i wouldnt complain if it was just joe blows personal page...but since its a company i would be pretty inflamed....it takes alot of time to accumulate this information...and hey,if your gonna steal, maybe change the look of it and mix it up a little, jeeeesus...
im guessing vinny should be at his house anytime now to make a reajustment to his vertebrae.. -
Damn that sucks, not only did they steal some html from this site.
A lot of the content is hosted on this sites server including pics, samples and some tools.
This has got to hurt, this site has enough bandwidth problems Baldrick's gona be pissed! -
Shit They practically stole your whole site I would demand them to take it all of and put a link to your entrance page and if they do not comply send and email to the website provider and ask them to remove them altogether.
-
i just checked the site. i would be extreamly pissed. its a pretty underdeveloped site but if they keep on ripping off from this site or other sites then it'll work its way up. what can be done about it??????

Baldrick
You definately need to do something and fast because not only they have copied you webpages but also all the links that lead to files on your site so they are also stealing your precious Bandwidth. -
This is blatant plagiarism.
Bladrick should email them and threaten to sue. Next, he should email the web hosting company and notify them of the situation and the potential lawsuit. Hosting companies want to avoid suits.

I just emailed Thomas, David (webmaster@TOPLINENORTHWEST.COM).
I listed the URL for VCDHelp's tools section and the plagiarised section on ToplineNorthwest's site. IMHO everyone should do this as well. This takes bandwidth away from Baldrick and this site, which means it's that much harder to keep up and running. Let's go people!

Made a quick trip to http://www.internic.com and retrieved this info:
Domain Name: TOPLINENORTHWEST.COM
Registrar: NETWORK SOLUTIONS, INC.
Whois Server: whois.networksolutions.com
Referral URL: http://www.networksolutions.com
Name Server: AUTHNS3.STTL.QWEST.NET
Name Server: AUTHNS1.MPLS.QWEST.NET
Name Server: AUTHNS2.DNVR.QWEST.NET
Updated Date: 05-nov-2001
Look under #10b of Network Solutions' Service Agreement page:
http://www.netsol.com/en_US/legal/static-service-agreement.jhtml
NetworkSolutions' Acceptable Use Policy: http://www.netsol.com/en_US/legal/aup.jhtml
Here is the partial text of their "E-Commerce Services":
"You may not use the E-Commerce Services (or any part of the E-Commerce Services) to display or otherwise use any material, content, software or information that contains any of the following: ... (b) any material that violates or infringes in any way the rights, including copyrights, trademark rights or other intellectual property rights, of any party;"
I believe this means that Topline Northwest has failed to comply with this term of service since they stole code from another web site.
Point this out in your emails people!
This is the URL for NetworkSolutions' feedback:

It should be a simple matter to add some PHP code to redirect people coming from http://www.toplinenorthwest.com to a porno site (just check the Referer field). Then call up the host provider and say this site to complain. Most providers don't allow porno (at least on their basic accounts).
-
The site's hosting company:www.qwest.net
These are the people that host the offending website, email these guys too.
I didnt get a chance to find an Email but as long as you use qwest.net as the domain, their mailbox should catch all incoming mail anyway. Try something like webmaster@qwest.net or abuse@qwest.net
PS.
I love the idea of refering people to a porno site. LOL
-
Damn, Baldrick must be pretty upset about this. He has enough bandwidth problems as it is, let alone someone stealing it. I already sent my 2 cent to the webmaster. I can't beleive there are people that shamless who won't even attempt to disguise the fact that they plagiarized a site.
