I'm seeing sales for a refurbished Samsung Blu Ray player - model BD-P1000. What happened to this thing - why are they already selling refurbished versions? Weird.

I wouldn't go that far. My first 19 CRT monitor over 6 years old now. Still has an excellent picture.

Some things sold as refurbished, are just items that have been returned. They cannot be sold as new, and are just tested to ensure that they work. Since they cannot be sold as new, they are sold as refurbished.
