I've been experimenting further with the online m2t files and FFmpegX. I've been encoding them, to DV without any problems other than on about half of them I do, as Major suggested, have to invert the audio.
However the datarate of the DV files is 6.8Mb - shoudn't it be 3.2 or there abouts? The preset datarate is 25000kb on FFmpegX. The resulting files are twice the size of the original m2ts.
Also the duration seems to have been changed on some for example the file "cmpngcarpssng.m2t" went from 16sec 24fr to 11sec 25fr and "cocoonspace.mt2 went from 26sec 47 to 23sec 17 (though it is still in sync.)
This would cause problems were I too recompress the footage and then try and us DV files as offline, and then reconnect to the original HDV files (provided I could ever demux them)
