i'm new to mac world, i recently ripped a dvd using Mac The Ripper and burned it using Burn X. the ripped DVD plays excellent on my standalone DVD player, but my dvd drive can't recognize the DVD when i try to play it on my macbook. i have a MATSHITADVD-R UJ-857 DVD Drive, and i used a blank DVD+RW. any ideas? this may seem a small problem, but i'm still making my first baby mac steps here.
configs of my DVD Drive are as follows:

Interconnect: ATAPI
Burn Support: Yes (Apple Shipped/Supported)
Cache: 2048 KB

I suspect it's the "RW" disc you used. Try burning to just a "-R"
for single-layer and "+R" for dul-layer discs.
RW discs give my Mac apps fits.Al Bloom -
well, i baught -RW and same problem happened. i think i'll try the -R and tell you how it goes. thanks
