I recently picked up an old Hauppauge PCI TV tuner based on the Conexant 878 chip. I installed the most current Hauppauge drivers and WinTV2000 which all went fne. Yet upon starting up WinTV2000 the whole PC freezes. I tried Showshifter, neoTV, and BeyondTV all with the same result....at some point shortly into the program starting up, the whole system freezes. This occurred regardless of whether I had Hauppauge drivers or Sourceforge (BTwincap) drivers installed.
I tried Dscaler on a whim and voila it works fine. This allows me to watch programs, change channels, etc with no problems. Yet this is one of my daughter's PCs and its sole purpose was for light gaming and more importantly to record TV shows (thereby keeping my Hauppauge PVR-250 less busy)
I really want something like TitanTV or even Gemstar GuidePlus that is simple and easy to setup.
Any thoughts on the problem, other suggestions, etc?
Thanks in advance.

Well....figures I would get the solution as soon as I post.....buddy gave me a link to another thread. Change the source in the "Primary" program to Dib-Draw instead of Overlay
