bruning dvd not working help?

im useing fastdvdcopy 4 to copy my dvd that i own but when i play it on my home dvd player it does not play till i press skip and go to chapter number 2 and had has spanish subtitles. but if i play it in my portable dvd player it plays a few seconds no subs and then repeats up to the same part one more time then go to a black screen and nothing happens. i tryed to bun it 4 times 3 times with out compressing again and 1 time compressing it again. also im burning it with out bouns and menu just the movie. what can i do to fix it and make it burn properly? or if there is a free and fast way to burn dvd with or with out bouns and the menus someone let me know and tell me how to do it?

Buy a PC and use DVD shrink ?

What discs (media code preferably) are you burning to ?
Did it have any problems ripping in the first place ?

im terying to burn a movie that i own called "friday" and what u mean by ripping it fastdvdcopy does not do that i think it just compress it because all i do it put in the dvd i want to copy then after it ejects the dvd i put in a blank dvd then it wrights it to the disc and then its done.also not to be rude to u guns1inger but ur not helping me and how in the hell do i get to burn this dvd the right way.

I am trying to help, but you don't seem to fully understand the process of copying a DVD, and haven't answered my first question - what media are you burning to ?

In order for the software to copy the DVD, it must first rip - or copy - the DVD contents to your HDD. This involves breaking copy protection on the DVD first, so the files are accessable, then copying these files to your HDD. If there are problems in doing this - dirty or scratched disc, unable to fully crack the copy protection - then you may not get a clean copy to burn. If the software doesn't realise that it screwed up, it will try to burn, and you get unplayable or unpredictable results.

If you use cheap media, you may simply be burning to rubbish, and getting playback issues as a result.

The most widely used method on a Mac is MTR (Mac the ripper) to rip to your hard drive and then DETOX (Dvd2OneX) to compress and burn, or Toast 7 to compress and burn.
