    Hiya there,
    I have just gotten into all this and dont know how to convert an AVI to MPEG and then Mpeg to VCD so that i can play it on my dvd player.
    I have CD creator 4 on my computer. I tried to use Nero 5.5 but my nero does not support my cd writer. So can you plase explain step by step what to do and how to do it

  2. Just follow the directions in the "How to Convert" section on the left. You can use TMPGenc to convert the avi directly to vcd format mpeg files. Hope this helps.

Heloo...im new here and to the world of .avi!!!I have WInmx where u can download movies...when ever its done i try to play it, but my players dose not support .avi files... so search for .avi players but it still and dosen't play the whole thing!!! i went to yahoo.com and sezrch for "how to convert .avi to .mov or whatever i can to put on a dvd player... so i went to convert(see on the left) and look for it...ive gone through the steps and it still dosen't play the whole movie!!! then i got very piss off!!so ive deleted every thing and hopefully some one here can give instruction to change .avi files to whatever i can put on a dvd player...so please some one help!! please make your steps easy and tell me where i can download the tools(any that are free)...And could u do me a faver? email these instruction to me....thanx to who ever reading this and gonna help me!!!

    Well i was able to convert avi to Mpeg and i dont know if did it right or not but i did burn that mpeg file to vcd in easy cd creator but for some reaosn it wont run on my dvd.. I dont know if i did it right or not but can u please tell me where do i have to in TMPGEnc [ that is what i am using]. I am new to this proram so can be more specific thank you . And one more thing how will i know f that vcd i have burned is burned right is there any way that i could check it.

  5. pardon me if this comes across rude, i do not mean it that way but what you guys need to do is stop assuming you need step by step instructions. this stuff is not that complex. follow the guides on this site and experiment and you will be surprised how quickly you can learn it on your own with whats provided here.

    Cat your dvd player probably does not support the cd-r or cd-rw media you put the vcd on. burned vcd's from your cd writer are different from pressed vcd's so just because the dvd player says it plays vcd's that does not mean it will play a vcd on a cd-r.

    KLO this is a guess but im pretty sure its a correct guess. look at the file name and if it says 1of2 in it then you probably want 2of2 to go with it otherwise you only have half a movie. vcd's only hold 74 minutes of video so movies have to be burned onto 2 discs.
