My intention is to buy a DVD/VCD/MP3 player in the US and eventually take it to my home country (India).
My doubts are in India it is a different DVD region when compared to USA and it is also PAL system.
Which DVD player is recommended so that it can be used in both the places. Will all the DVD players work in all the regions. Please clarify. Recommend which product is cheap and best suitable for my needs.

The easiest/safest way is to look for a "Region-Free" DVD player.
Having said that, Region-Free DVD players are usually harder to find and a bit more expensive.
As regard to the Brand, I'm afraid you'll have to do some research yourself. -
I have heard of people finding hacks for their players that turn them into region 0 players but, this does open you up to some problems, the software update could fail, leaving your player in an unknown state, or it could work but some of the DVDs may not work well.
Probably the best idea is try to find one the either has both regions built in or try to find one that allows region switching.
Sorry I couldnt be more specific
