I have a problem and I can't figure it out
I tried making a backup disc 1 of My Name is Earl Season 1 with Dvd Decrypter (No Errors)
and then using ImgBurn to make the backup.
I followed the tutorial as in this thread:
http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=1780
I then placed it in my Panasonic Dvd Recorder (Model DMR-E55) and it said the disc cannot be read.
I got no errors when making the backup, and it will play on my computer.
Any ideas? Or does anyone use a different program to make Double Layer backups?
Thanks!

Many DVD players will not read DL DVDr's. That is why DL never caught on. I use the following:
DVDFab Decrypter - to rip, you can also use RipIt4Me, but the newest version locks my system.
FixVTS - to fix any problems with the ripped image
VOBBlanker - to blank out as much of the rip as possible, like extras, this is done so DVDShrink will shrink as little as possible
DVDShrink - to shrink the data to the size of a single DVDr.
Nero - to burn, Nero does a better job of fixing any problems with a non-compliant DVD than imgburn. imgburn will only burn what you give it.Some days it seems as if all I'm doing is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic -
If you used DVDDecrypter to rip.....and it had no errors while ripping....why not just use DVDDecrypter to burn as well?

Straight copy of a D/L disc is not a problem.
Verbatim discs are largely considered the best D/L discs by the way. -
Nero is a sub-standard DL burning application.
What DL discs are you burning to ?
Most DL media is rubbish, so it is easy to get crap that will give you poor results.
Are you sure the media you are using is compatible with your Panasonic ?
Have you tested the disc in other players ?
A failure in a single machine, especially when it works in your PC, is not representative of anything other than that single machine.Read my blog here.

To expand on a couple of things that guns1inger stated, I'm going to assume you are using +R DL media ?
Also don't waste your $$ on anything but Verbatim DL +R media.
Does your panasonic standalone record on +R media ?
My panasonic standalone only records on -R media (& dvd-ram) and will NOT play any +R media unless the booktype has been changed to DVD-ROM. -
Ok....I found the answer...My E55S does not play DVD+R, but the Panasonic DMR-ES10 and my Panasonic XP30 will play it.
So it's just that one recorder.
And BTW, I bought Memorex Double Layer DVD+R's.
I hope I don't get any coasters with 'em...I usually hate Memorex...but Verbatim I could not find offline. I willbe sure to buy those only in the future.
Thanks for all the input!
